TIGER PRIDE

What is TIGER PRIDE? TIGER PRIDE is the Political Action Committee, the political arm of USEP. It requires a separate dues contribution from that of USEP - NO USEP DUES ARE USED FOR ANY POLITICAL ISSUE OR CANDIDATE! Tiger pride Executive Board members screen candidates and vote to make recommendations, if any, to the TIGER PRIDE Rep Council, who vote on those recommendations to endorse candidates.

For the upcoming November General elections, TIGER PRIDE Executive Board members will screen candidates for the Superintendent of Schools and County Commission seats. This will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2020. They will meet virtually after the screenings to determine if any endorsement should be made, then report that to the TIGER PRIDE Rep Council. A special TIGER PRIDE Rep Council meeting will take place prior to October 9, 2020, if necessary, for a vote to take place.

If you wish to be a TIGER PRIDE member, please contact your Building Rep or download the T.P. membership card at this link: http://www.useponline.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/TIGER-PRIDE-Mbr-App-Correct-2020.pdf, complete and return to the USEP office. Remember, only T.P Executive Board and T.P. Rep Council members will vote.

SRP/TOY

SRP/TOY voting can be extended at your worksite until Friday, Oct. 2, 2020. However, we MUST have the winner’s names to the office by the close of the day (4:30 PM) in order to collate and send to the District first thing Monday morning, Oct. 4, 2020. If not received by the deadline, your winner could lose out in the opportunity to compete at the District level or be recognized.

CENTER FOR INDEPENDENT EMPLOYEES

This group, which seems to be an organization set on “pursuing members” away from unions, has asked our District for information on USEP members under the Freedom of Information Act. The District gave numbers only information to them, however, we want all Union members to be aware of “too good to be true promises and talk” from people with unsavory interests toward our members.
