USEP Governance Recommends New Contracts

The United School Employees of Pasco (USEP) held a special Building Representative Council meeting tonight, January 13, 2015, and Building Representatives from Pasco’s schools and worksites voted unanimously to recommend the tentative agreements to Pasco’s teachers and SRP.  This was after the USEP Executive Board met on December 16, 2014 and unanimously recommended acceptance to the Rep Council.
Both the teacher and school related personnel settlements provide salary improvements for employees and are among the best in the state.  Every eligible teacher and SRP in the District will see a pay increase! The agreements also continue to provide a fully-paid employee health insurance package that includes major medical insurance, prescription drug coverage, a mental wellness program, and life insurance.
“After seven months of protracted negotiations, it is a relief to have one of the best salary increases in the state and we are glad the Rep Council has voted to recommend the tentative agreements to the entire bargaining units.  Now we hope the full bargaining units vote to ratify this agreement during tomorrow’s voting” said USEP President Kenny Blankenship.
Teachers and SRP will vote on the tentative agreements at their worksites on January 14, 2015. The Pasco County School Board will vote on the tentative agreements at their next scheduled meeting of January 20, 2015.
